A flagged route leads from the campspot at Fanny Bay on the TR of the Mike River to Lake 29. Packraft to the head from a swampy clearing. This lake has multiple dead tree stumps to the surface, and requires care paddling. No fun in rippled water. On the TL of the Mike River fairly thick bush with windfall slows progress. Stay wide of swampy ground before Lake 199. Packrafting is possible from the bottom of the lake, but we started 100m further on From the head of Lake 199, push up the TL of the Mike River, mostly staying away from the river. There is considerable bog-pine scrub before False Lake. Descend to the shore, and pack-raft past the falls where the Mike River drops from Mike Lake. A rocky ledge gives sufficient room to pack up the raft before a steep climb over a small ridge to Mike Lake. Again, a rocky ledge is a good put-in for rafts. At the head of the lake, there is good camping just above the beach
