From Ellis Hut, take Ellis Road west for 500m to a track junction, and turn left (west) up Yeomans Road. This soon leaves pines and enters beech, climbing gently for 1km until it reaches a junction in a clearing with an old chimney stack. Take the left fork (south) - Yeomans Track. This track follows an old logging tramway as is winds in and out of several valleys. The old tramway has a gentle gradient and is broad, well cut though muddy in places. All creeks are bridged. Cyclists use this route.

After 4km, a signposted junction marks the end of the Parks Peak track, dropping from the west.
