A 4WD track heads south from the summit of the Nevis Road and drops to Duffers Saddle (a more vehicle friendly track cuts off the Nevis Rd 1km west, sidling the face), A steady climb them follows for 3km until a set of yards is reached. Old Woman Hut is signposted 500m to the west at the head of a small valley.

From Old Woman Hut, head 500m east to the yards on the 4WD track. A good 4WD track runs north up the range, dropping slowly to Duffers Saddle, before climbing for a further kilometer to meet the Nevis Road, either at the summit, or 1km west, depending on which fork you take.
