From the junction head down the ridge. Fairly gentle to begin with, it drops steeply down to the hut. The last few hundred metres are hard on the knees

From just behind the hut, the track climbs steeply for the first 300m or so (35 minutes), then settles down to a more enjoyable ramble along the spur.
