A steep, exposed descent is possible off pt1999 to about 1800m from where a sidle to the saddle with pt1909 is possible.
From the very eastern end of pt1999 summit, descend the spur/gully north off the peak. There are 2 or 3 rocky chutes that must be crossed to gain access to the face leading towards the saddle. Spy out safe route across each, then sidle east back onto the ridgeline at or just before the saddle. The ascent of pt1909 is straight forward on good stable scree.
