From Wharite Peak traveled North along a well marked route to the turn off to the Wharite Peak track. From there the route remains reasonably obvious with tape markers in some places where the track is hard to follow, The track doesn't actually go to the summit of pretender because the Leatherwood is all but impenetrable.
