A gentle 2.5km wander takes you down the broad Dorset Ridge past a large tarn and onto the broad flat-topped pt1355. A signpost exists somewhere on this broad top marking the turnoff to Dorset Hut. There is marginal phone coverage at the signpost, but not the hut.

From the hut turnoff, an easy 2.5km stroll takes you east across broad tops of Dorset Ridge and up the the final brief ascent to Tarn Ridge. A large tarn is passed after 1.5km.
