From the start of mature bush near the end of the logging track, continue up the ridge for 200m to where a spur drops east into the Snowy. A tree with 3 pieces of flagging tape marks the turn.
You can either follow the flagging tape down the basin above the grassy flat, or drop down the easy spur reaching the river downstream of the flat then scramble the steep bank to the riverbed.
Good dry campspots and a shelter exist on the grassy flat upstream of the bend on the south bank on the Snowy.
