The quickest route between Moonlight and Roses hut and Junction Hut is along the spur which connects the two. From Moonlight and Roses Hut climb the face behind the hut to pt1414. Follow the easy open ridgeline south past pt1073 and descend either of the two steep scrubby spurs south of the highpoint leading to Junction Hut or Timaru River.

Follow the easy open ridgeline north to pt1414. From here descend the tussock faces to the bushedge at Moonlight and Roses Hut which is visible below.
