Note: Described in the reverse direction to your journey
Saddle around the tarn is overgrown with 6 foot scrub. Bash through this maintaining the ridgeline. 10-15mins should see you breakout. Follow ridge up Te More and cairns around the tops to western bushline and end of tops. Here you will hit the old hunter access and White markers with reasonable track down to Rangitikei. Keep right of some windfall not far in the bush and just before you start dropping down. Track follows the spur to the river. There will be a cairn at the bottom at the river edge marking track. Campsite opposite, 50m upstream. Private property. Tramping permit from Helisika required.
