It is possible to follow the ridgeline most of the way from Mt Alta to the saddle with Triple Peak. Alternatively scree sidles on the western face provide less technical travel.

Follow the ridgeline north, scrambing round the first outlying peak to its east before picking up decent game trails on the descending ridgline. This tricky scramble can be avoided by dropping north into the basin and sidling out back onto the ridgeline at 2060m. The ridgeline can be followed all the way to pt1992 by sticking to the game trails and making minor sidles round rocky sections. A tricky descent north off pt1992 is required down a gravel chute. Pt 1943 can be climbed by an easy scramble, but it is necessary again to drop north off it and sidle at the level of the next saddle to avoid rocky sections.

Alternatively drop west at saddle 1915 and sidle scree faces 100m below all of the above.

The tarn shown on the map was near-dry when I visited. But had good sheltered campspots 200m west of it at the saddle. More exposed campspots were also available beside the creek indicated by contours draining east from triple peak towards the tarn.
