Both sides of the Upukerora River can be followed between the upper flats and Army Hut if the river is up. The true left has decent animal trails near the river bank, and access to 2 small clearings which both have good camp spots, but downstream of the northern clearing an active slip requires a sizable climb to get around. The true right has an old track, sporadically marked with permalot markers and tape, which is still mostly followable. However, it does climb well away from the river in places, presumbaly to get around obsticles near the river, and note if the river is up you still wont be able to reach Army Hut which sits on the true left. The marked track seems to hit several of the clearings shown on the topomap on the true right where there is camping available.

When river flows allow, best travel is to be had in the river bed itself, crossing and recrossing as required to get around obsticles. The first small clearing is reached in about an hour from the bushline and has camping on the true left. The second clearing is another hour south. The extensive lower flats begin somewhere between the 540m and 560m contours. An old 4WD/quad bike track starts/ends near the bush edge on the true right near the 540m contour. Its sporatic until across the large tributary that enters from the true left near Pt750, from where it can be reliably followed al the way to Army Hut, but it does climb terraces 40ish metres above the river so faster travel is still to be had sticking to the river banks if possible.

Make sure you're on the true left once past the Snowdon slip. Connect with the 4WD/quad bike track as the bush closes in from the East. Army Hut is a couple hundred metres down stream.
