Follow the spur ESE from Mid King towards the confluence of Baldy Creek and Sth Mitre Stream. After 100 vertical meters you enter leatherleaf. There is no track nor any markers - just stick to the spur. Around the 1300m contour, ENE of the biv, you will find DOC triangles. These mark a route cutting back WSW to Mid King Biv, dropping 100m into the basin in the process.
