Note that the area is classified as 'Complex' avalanche terrain by DOC - though no obvious risk areas were noted on the track by myself downstream of Boil the Billy.

An unmaintained track runs up the south bank of Minaret Burn from Slip Creek Hut to Boil the Billy Creek / Hut. About half way it crosses Starvation Creek (ankle-knee deep in normal flows), which gives access to Mt Alta.
