Track created privately as an alternative to the river. It can be found at the back of the bottom terrace heading up river where the track heads out to the river flats. It is unmarked but well benched and fairly clear. It climbs then maintains its height above the river, skirting several old slips.
Near the junction of the North and South Ohau rivers, it is possible to drop down a steep bank to a beach. It may be easier further up the river. I'm unsure how much further up the valley this track goes.

Down from the forks, there is a small beach after the first hard true left hand turn. It's possible to scramble up the bank to the track. Follow the track down river to the flats wher ethe main track enters the river.
