From the carpark a 4wd / ATV track runs along the face of pt183 up-valley to the flats containing the homestead. A sparsely poled route runs from there past the historic homestead (little more than 2 shacks) and crosses the Mikonui approximately level with Mikonui Flats Hut. The crossing in knee deep in normal flows, but many parties report being stuck on the wrong side for days during heavy rain.

Tape / triangles mark the short track through a band of bush to the hut, running at right angles from the creek to the hut itself.

From Mikonui Flat hut a brief track leads directly to the banks of the Mikonui. The crossing in knee deep in normal flows, but many parties report being stuck on the wrong side for days during heavy rain.

A sparsely poled route leads down the flats north of the river passing the historic homestead and a small stream to reach the bushedge where indicated on topomaps. A farm / ATV track sidles the face of pt183 from here to the carpark.
