A route runs south from pt600 along the main range. Passing just west of the scrubby top of pt604, it drops to the saddle separating the Patupaiarehe and Kahuterawa Streams. For this part is uncut, and very sporadically marked.

I lost the route at the saddle, and cannot say if it continues, though rumour has it dropping west into the forestry. It may also be possible to sneak south, skirting the scrubby tops, towards Punga Hut. But this in untested at this time.
