From the highpoint at pt594, a route runs ESE up the spur towards the summit above Kime Hut. The route has old permolat markers, now very sparse, and more recent flagging tape marking it, and has a faint ground trail. But the spur itself is obvious and easily followed. Bush is open right to the bushedge. Once on the tops a brief face of low subalpine scrub follows for 100m or so, then you are out on good tussock tops. The ridge huts the Southern Crossing track 100m south of Kime Hut.

Head 100m south from Kime Hut and pick up the spur dropping west, Descend through good tussock, though the last 100m to the bushedge is low subalpine scrub. Once in the bus a good ground trail, occasionally marked with old permolat / new tape. Several false spurs with good game trails ont them attempt to lead you off into side valleys, so good navigation skills and care are required.

After a saddle, the ridge climbs to pt594. A tree marked with yellow danger tape marks the junction of a spur dropping west into the Snowy, and the route which continues north down the main ridge to hit logging tracks leading to the Snowy/Tregar confluence.
